It is not necessary to connect to the Internet, so you can be sure that there is no way your information is going out of your device.
The app is in active development and getting frequent updates and many features are in the pipeline, including privacy mode and themes.
Proximity sensor values are calibrated for Nexus devices standard. If you have problems with the sensor in the Galaxy of Xperia devices, try calibrating the sensor app settings or TurnOff Pocket Fashion
